I am Dr. Cristina Pisani, Research Horticulturist at the Southeast Fruit and Tree Nut Research Laboratory in Byron, GA. My research focuses on pecan nutrition and rootstock effects on nut quality. I am characterizing phenotypic traits of native pecan germplasm, including those associated with nutmeat quality, that will allow genome-wide analyses to identify traits of interest for eventual incorporation into cultivars by pecan breeding programs.
