The University of Georgia Tifton Campus and the USDA Southeastern Fruit and Nut Tree Lab in Byron, Ga. are cooperatively mapping genes for important traits in pecan. As part of this work a population of 122 Pawnee x Elliott seedlings are being replicated via grafting at each location to better understand how the environment influences key traits such as pecan scab resistance.
